This variety of honey, is produced exclusively from Sulla flowers, a forage plant that is sown in autumn in the clay soils of the Umbrian hills. This leguminous plant is drought-resistant and blooms between May and July. The purple-red flower attracts our bees, with which they make a delicate, floral and sweet-tasting honey.
In autumn as temperatures drop, it tends to crystallize with fine granules.
This unifloral honey is characterized by a faint, floral, slightly hay-like odor. Its taste notes are sweet, slightly acidic. It is characterized by a golden yellow color tending to light amber.
Sulla honey is produced from May to July.
